Indeed Derk, it is also going to prove a challenge for us as we've never had to hire out more than 12 horses for LBE. Congratulations, this is a new world record!v Laughing

Hello all,

I have an up-date regarding the horse hiring situation for LBE 2010. The main organisor has come back to me yesterday and has advised that he has booked the following horses based upon your numbers:

15th Hussars/16th Light Dragoons = 5 horses.
Dutch Hussars = 2 horses.
18th Hussars = 3 horses.

He is still on the look-out for horses to give to the 1st Dragoons and also another 5 horses for the 15th/16th. Regarding the 18th, it was said to book 3 for sure and maybe another 3 later on. Until confirmation of these 3, I can't book.

The price for the above horses is the same as the last two years: 160 € for the weekend.

Things are going well at the moment and I'm sure that we will be able to find the remainder soon enough.

Regards,

Marc

Cavalry units 2010 Empty Payment for horses...

Post  CorpEvans Wed Apr 14, 2010 1:16 pm

Hi Marc,

I know you're working on the final cost for the event between being a farther...

Would it be better for us to send you cash for the 15th's horses now and pay our event participation cost later?

I've also heard a rumour that we could pay you via Paypal. If so what is the address? Is it still E160 per horse?

Cheers,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Well, it's like this: The cost of the horse hire is indeed 160 €....BUT...

We are going to have to get horses outside our traditional suppliers and as such, there will be transport costs associated with this. This cost is unknown at the moment and will almost certainly be unknown until after Waterloo, but it will be shared between all cavalrymen hiring horses in order not to discriminate.

We are also awaiting the news of whether the water issue at La Queue Noire will be resolved or not. Should it not be resolved, then we have to go to the horse stables and that also has a cost that needs to be incorporated between the cavalry.

As you can see, I have alot of variables that I just can't compute until they are resolved. Xavier tells me that this should be done by end of June at the latest.

Now, you can give me the basic 160 € horse hire and then pay the difference with all these costs + the participation cost at a later date of course. And there is a PayPal address you can send the money to.

Good day to you all,

I bring some very good news from the La Boissiére cavalry front.

Xavier and his wife visited CHEVAL NATURE (the big horse center in the area) and this is what was discussed:

They are in the process of buying the La Queue Noire center, the sale should be signed in June and the works required to get it up to running will be completed for September. This means that we don't need to go to the stables (and therefore pay for boxes) but we can use the Queue Noire complexe.

CHEVAL NATURE has put 15 horses for the Allies for the event, if we add the 8 other horses booked at the other equestrial center, that means that we know have 23 horses booked. Below is the list of horses required that I have received:

1st Dragoons: 8 horses requested.
7e Huzaren: 2 horses requested.
15th Hussars & 17th Light Dragoons: 10 horses requested.
18th Hussars: 3 horses requested.

TOTAL: 23 horses.

Therefore, based upon this list, I can consider that all the horse requirements for the Allies has been fulfilled and I can commit myself with the hirers. PLEASE CONFIRM!

With regards to costs, this means that we will not have to pay for box hire so, in theory, these would be the costs for each rider:

160 € for the horse;
20 € for the participation fee.

Naturally, if this would change it would only be slightly so I believe that we can go ahead with these costs and adept if needs be. The dead-line, I remind you, is before Waterloo.

Regards,

Marc

Cavalry units 2010 Empty La B horse payment...

Post  CorpEvans Fri Apr 16, 2010 3:16 pm

Hi Marc,

I've got 4 for the 15th confirmed and I'm working on the last one now. We'll be in contact to make the payment as soon as we can.

By the way it's the 16th Queens Light Dragoons (or big Queens!) not the 17th LD.

Thank so much for all your efforts!

Cheers,

Chris

Nah mate....websites that are ".ch" are Swiss and not French (Confédération Hélvétique) and La Boissiére-Ecole is not yet part of Switzerland...unless there has been an invasion I'm not aware of. Razz Razz
