My name is Steve Neville and as can be seen from my avatar I also do some Great War events; that was Le Cateau. This should make a change from the usual public events that I've now become bored with. Would prefer to bring my SMLE but Captain Authenticity would be on my case. Also I hate the "Trotter" (or whatever they are really called) backpacks just as Rifleman Harris did on the way to Corunna/Vigo. Serious work will need to be done on this.

Rifleman across time Empty 2/95th

Post  RifleBrigade1914 Tue Jul 20, 2010 11:29 pm

I'll be with the 2/95th - lets hope my rifle works; my backpack works; the weather is dry; and I function including feet and legs.

RifleBrigade1914 says;
"...Also I hate the "Trotter" (or whatever they are really called) backpacks just as Rifleman Harris did on the way to Corunna/Vigo. Serious work will need to be done on this."

(Let's just call it the British Army knapsack). Dunno what work needs to be done - if they're as uncomfortable as Harris found (which was probably way overloaded by his account!) then they're probably nice and authentic - and that's what La Boisiere is all about, no?! Twisted Evil
